Northrop Grumman Space Systems is hiring a Space Associate Software/DevOps Engineer in Baltimore, MD or Fairfax, VA. This individual will work on the design, development, integration, and maintenance of an outstanding, operationally-deployed system.


This candidate must possess the ability to work as a member of a small, highly-skilled team in a dynamic environment, as well as to participate in systems design, code development, debugging, and integration and testing of new capabilities, enhancements & modifications into the operational baseline. The work expands automated, continuous software deliveries from multiple development teams to deployments on cloud and on-premise systems.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Working on technical challenges to provide innovative solutions, troubleshooting systems (Linux/windows/certificates), implementing new capabilities, Helmfile installing/configurating, and supporting test activities with IA personnel, interacting with end-users, customers, and other program engineers, and more.

This position pays up to $20k in additional, sign-on bonus for selected, eligible candidates!

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS in STEM discipline with 0+ years of software development, or 4+ years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree

  • Active, in-scope TS/SCI clearance is required

  • Working knowledge in containerization for rapid deployment and integration of defects/features; i.e., Docker, Kubernetes

  • Adept with Ansible or similar

  • Familiarity with Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) methodologies and techniques

  • Knowledge of virtualized environments, including: architecture, creation, deployment, and management of VMs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with active poly

  • Proficient with Cloud Development/Deployment

  • Experience supporting operational systems, as well as working within an Agile Development process

  • Experience with Web Development

  • Experience with Java and/or JavaScript




Salary Range: $65,000 USD - $102,100 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
