The Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) Advanced Processing Solutions business pushes the boundaries of innovation, redefines the leading edge of exotic new technologies, and drives advances in the sciences. One of our most challenging new fields is Transformational Computing, which combines the unique properties of superconductivity and quantum mechanics to develop radical new energy-efficient computing systems. Our team is chartered with providing the skills to transform computing beyond Moore’s Law, advancing development of computer architectures, processing/memory subsystems, and large scale high performance computing systems. You’ll work in a fast-paced team environment alongside a broad array of scientists and engineers to make these processing solutions a reality and deliver remarkable new advantages to the warfighter.

The Networked Information Solutions (NIS) Advanced Processing Solutions business is seeking entry level engineers with interest and aptitude in digital ASIC circuit design and verification.

This position requires work onsite at our Advanced Technologies Lab located in Linthicum, MD.

Responsibilities:
  • Circuit behavioral coding in Verilog, System Verilog or VHDL RTL.
  • Circuit synthesis, formal verification, and static timing using state of the art digital ASIC design tools.
  • Developing verification plans based on requirements of the circuit and creating circuit functional test benches in RTL.
  • Generating manufacturing test vectors and manufacturing circuit test plan.
  • Help to develop automated procedures to streamline digital design procedures.

This position can be filled at the Associate Digital ASIC Circuit Design Engineer level or the Digital ASIC Circuit Design Engineer level. Qualifications for both are listed below:

Basic Qualifications for Associate Digital ASIC Circuit Design Engineer:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical area (BSEE or other Engineering discipline) with a minimum of 6 months of related experience.
  • Digital electronics coursework including logic design and analysis.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to team members both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
  • US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications for Associate Digital ASIC Circuit Design Engineer:
  • Experience in RTL coding in System Verilog, Verilog, or VHDL.
  • Knowledge of the front-end ASIC design process from RTL to gates (RTL coding, simulation, synthesis, static timing analysis, logic equivalence, DFT insertion).
  • Familiarity with electronic test hardware (O-scopes, network analyzers, signal generators, etc...).
  • Experience in at least one of MATLAB, Python, C, or C++.
  • Experience with test automation and data analysis in MATLAB.
  • Experience with digital logic test automation.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance.

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical area (BSEE or other Engineering discipline) and a minimum of 2 plus years of relevant experience; Masters Degree and 0 years.
  • Digital electronics coursework including logic design and analysis.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to team members both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
  • US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications Digital ASIC Circuit Design Engineer:
  • Experience in RTL coding in System Verilog, Verilog, or VHDL.

Salary Range: $71,500 USD - $107,300 USD
Salary Range 2: $86,600 USD - $129,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
