Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Database Developer for the Emerging Capabilities Development organization. The position is located at the Advanced Technology Lab (ATL) in Linthicum, MD where we design, manufacture, and test semiconductor products for internal production and emerging programs. The ideal candidate will have solid database developer skills, strong experience aggregating data into a data warehouse, database experience in Oracle/MS SQL, and experience supporting users in a manufacturing environment.

The selected candidate will be expected to design, model, document, and guide the logical and conceptual relationship of data and database changes for complex applications. He/she will analyze needs and requirements of existing and proposed systems, and develop technical, structural, and organizational specifications.


Responsibilities include:


• Perform database maintenance tasks to support application changes and ensure integrity and efficient performance of the databases. (Typical maintenance tasks include backup, recovery, migration, space management, structural changes, and performance tuning)
• Participate in the research and resolution of database problems.
• Installing and maintaining database supporting software packages.
• Document and improve work processes.
• Provide thorough coordination with customers, application developers, customers, and other IT groups.

  • ETL management and scripting.

  • Ability to use SSIS services to aggregate data into a warehouse.

  • Must have prior experience designing and deploying data warehouses.

  • Responsible for all data movements from source generators to respective repository.

  • Experience aggregating data from multiple sources.

  • Programming and scripting experience.

  • Maintain security and integrity controls.

  • Formulate policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management.

Basic Qualifications for Database Developer:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or related engineering discipline with 2 years of relevant experience (MS with 0 years experience).

  • Experience with SSIS       

  • Experience with MS SQL server

  • Experience creating database table structure for MS SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL.

  • Experience with SQL, stored procedures, triggers, and database technologies such as Oracle, MS SQL, and mySQL database technologies.

Basic Qualifications for Principal Database Developer:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or related engineering discipline with 5 years of relevant experience (MS with 3 years experience; PhD with 0 years ).

  • Experience with SSIS       

  • Experience with MS SQL server

  • Experience creating database table structure for MS SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL.

  • Experience with SQL, stored procedures, triggers, and database technologies such as Oracle, MS SQL, and mySQL database technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Data warehouse design experience

  • Advanced technical skills with creating and modifying SQL procedures , stored procedures, triggers, and database technologies.

  • C# Programming experience.

  • AWS database technologies.


Salary Range: $78,600 USD - $118,000 USD
Salary Range 2: $96,900 USD - $145,300 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
