Northrop Grumman's Enterprise Services is seeking a Manager 3 of Information Governance.  The Manager 3 will be a member of the Information Strategy and Governance organization of the Chief Data Office and will build a team to lead information governance across the enterprise.

This leadership role will be located in either Linthicum, MD or Northern VA with the option to work a significant percentage of time remotely. Some travel will be required to engage key stakeholders in the governance process.  In this role, you will be responsible for creating binding standards, policies, and processes for data across the enterprise, for managing the application and evolution of the standards, and for building and expanding an advocacy network for data governance to drive enduring business value.

You will also be responsible for managing the operations of the Corporate Information Governance Board that is currently being chartered, engaging with senior executives across the enterprise on a regular basis.  

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • As a group manager, build and develop a high performing team. Set and operate to CDO objectives, and provide guidance to subordinates based on goals, objectives, and company policy.

  • Help establish, then manage and support the Corporate Information Governance Board

  • Develop an information governance talent pipeline including the identification and fulfillment of new roles as dictated by evolving business needs

  • Create and maintain standards, policies and processes for information access management, data quality, metadata management and all enterprise data sources

  • Support development and application of information standards, policies and processes within the sectors and functional organizations

  • Create and provide related training

  • Create partnerships with data authorities and other stakeholders to build data governance advocacy and to empower the use of metadata as an enterprise asset to drive business value

  • Build a culture around data sharing, information governance, and analytic literacy

  • Develop and administer budgets and standards of performance

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 8+ years of applicable professional experience; 6 years with a Master's degree

  • Inclusive and strategic leader, with the ability to develop customer relationships and create coalitions to drive change, champion innovation, amplify quality, manage execution, and deliver value

  • Articulate, persuasive communicator with the ability and presence to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels, including senior executives

  • Broad grasp of governance processes and practices

  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a diverse team

  • Ability to obtain a DOD Top Secret clearance

  • Strong business acumen to make sound judgments on sensitive topics with broad implications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Significant experience in the development and application of standards, policies, and processes

  • Significant information governance experience

  • Strong understanding of data, data analytics, and data systems

  • Understanding of Northrop Grumman policies, processes, and data sources

  • Experience with DoD & international customers and/or partners

  • Experience with Agile development and methodologies and SaaS technologies

  • Current DOD Secret, or Top Secret clearance


Salary Range: $163,200 USD - $244,800 USD
Salary Range 2: $171,000 USD - $256,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
