Northrop Grumman's Enterprise Services organization is seeking a candidate to serve as a technical domain manager in the Engineering Environment Development & Support (EEDS) functional homeroom whom manages the operations, support, and utilization of sector engineering software tools throughout the design and product lifecycle. This position will lead the Simulation and Analysis team The Simulation Analysis team is responsible for supporting sector standard simulation and analysis applications across the Mission Systems sector. The 50+ supported applications, span multiple engineering domains and have been broadly categorized into the following disciplines:

  • Mechanical
  • Electrical
  • Manufacturing, Test & Measurement
  • Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Requirements Management & Optimization
  • Reliability & Risk Management
  • Others

An important aspect of this role is thought leadership and customer service with a focus on pivoting the organization to meet both current and future model based engineering needs to support a growing workforce on a variety of programs with challenging technical requirements.

This role will be located in the Linthicum, MD/BWI location but we will consider a virtual/remote arrangement for the right cand

The qualified candidate will lead a diverse team of application engineers whom may have a variety of engineering backgrounds including electrical, RF, digital, software, systems, and mechanical. The candidate must possess strong people development and excellent communication, planning and coordination skills. Must be organized, flexible, and able to multitask in a dynamic team environment. The candidate will focus on keeping the team engaged while emphasizing organizational initiatives and enterprise communication while developing, leading, and optimizing strategy, process, and execution of engineering tools support across the sector.

The position will primarily support the Mission Systems Engineering and Sciences (E&S) and Emerging Capabilities Development (ECD) organizations as well as Manufacturing as needed, but will also interface with program teams across other sectors. This position may require occasional travel to other facilities within the United States. 

As a functional manager, this position requires taking time to set goals for their employees, communicate those goals, hold their employees responsible for the goals, write thoughtful and accurate performance appraisals, and follow the documented performance management process. The candidate will coach and develop their employees and help them with their career development and training. The candidate will also supervise the daily work operation of their team, provide guidance, and actively assist their staff as required.

Basic Qualifications: 


•Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 7+ years of relevant technical experience.

•At least 5 years of experience as Technical lead, Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead, or other leadership role directly managing, problem solving, or leading engineering teams

•Basic understanding of the Design, Manufacturing, and Test Engineering Development lifecycle process

•Basic experience with engineering applications used in software, systems, and/or hardware engineering and the servers that host them

•Ability to obtain a Secret clearance

•US Citizenship is required


Preferred Qualifications:

•Master’s degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 7+ years of relevant experience.

•Seven years’ experience as Technical lead, Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead, or other leadership role directly managing, problem solving, or leading engineering teams in a program office or business function

• At least 3 years of functional management or program manager experience

•Experience leading in a matrixed organization

•Advanced understanding of the Design, Manufacturing, and Test Engineering Development lifecycle process as well as knowledge of simulation and analysis tools (i.e. Structural, electrical, RF, and/or system)


•Advanced experience with engineering applications used in software, systems, and/or hardware engineering and the servers that host them

•Active Secret or higher Clearance

•Ability to be obtain and maintain SCI Clearances


 


Salary Range: $130,500 USD - $195,700 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
