Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) has an opening for a Supply Chain Procurement Specialist (Band 2) to join our team of qualified, diverse Division buyers and SCAs in the ECD Division. This position is located in Baltimore/Linthicum, MD or available for remote work with an opportunity for excellent career growth potential supporting the rapidly growing development programs with support from a Global Supply Chain Procurement perspective for ECD!
The selected candidate will source and procure goods and services of a commodity or service nature from many suppliers key to the development programs with whom ECD works. The candidate will Initiate, received and evaluate Requests for Quotations and Proposals, analyzing proposed pricing from potential suppliers. In conjunction with quality organization, the selected candidate will evaluate and monitor supplier cyber security status, their quality and reliability, as well as supplier ability to support required delivery schedules. The selected candidate will work with internal customers to ensure specifications are appropriate for the services or products required. The selected candidate will identify opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency and manage risk through targeted negotiations. The selected candidate will issue purchase orders, support creative invoicing requirements for Program needs, and perform NDA/OA negotiations, as needed. The selected candidate will manage performance of purchase orders, ensure compliance with all public law requirements as well as company (and business) policies and procedures, including import/export regulations. The selected candidate will employ sound business practices and assess supplier performance as part of follow-up activities. The selected candidate will be experienced in onboarding new suppliers, as well. The selected candidate will work on a both quick-turn material buys, more complex/higher-dollar procurements, as well as Service purchase orders, as well, in a fast-paced, exciting environment. The selected candidate should be excited by the opportunity to work in the development work arena on an established and collaborative team of SCAs and General Procurement professionals, supporting a variety of Programs supporting 4 Business Units across 100+ Programs, working on cutting edge technologies that will drive the future of the company.
-Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and 3 +years' of experience in Global Supply Chain, Purchasing/Procurement, Operations, Business, or other related field; 1+ years’ with Masters
Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
-Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with FAR/DFAR, including cyber security requirements (such as FAR 52.204-7012, DFARS 252.204-7012, etc.)
Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP
Experience using the Ariba SLP Portal for onboarding new NGC suppliers
Experience with negotiations with suppliers
This position reports to Linthicum, MD, USA, however, this position can also be worked from Unknown, VA, USA.
