Description

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Manager of Organizational Effectiveness to drive organizational change and develop critical organizational capabilities.  The manager leads a team of organizational effectiveness specialists to develop and implement organizational approaches and practices to enable top tier business performance. 

Open to hybrid telework, with primary location either Baltimore or Fairfax.  If located in Northern Virginia, will require travel to Baltimore office an average of 1-2 days per week. 

This position reports to the Director, of Organization Effectiveness and will require some travel. 

Scope and responsibilities:

  • Guide and consult with business leaders and HR on organization transformations, reorganizations, realignments and large-scale organization interventions.
  • Diagnose organizational needs and develop comprehensive solutions to increase team and organization effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with Division/Functional Vice Presidents and Human Resource Business Leaders to develop and implement strategies that result in systemic cultural change across the business. 
  • Develop strategic partnerships with the Leadership, HR Business Leaders/Partners, and other internal clients to promote organization effectiveness, and to address enterprise and sector strategic goals.
  • Provide expertise and facilitation for strategic planning, change management, engagement and other organization interventions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years of experience or a Master’s degree and at least 8 years of experience in Organization Development, Organization Effectiveness,  Talent Management and Development, and/or HR Business Partner/Leader experience.
  • The candidate must have organization effectiveness, change management and project leadership experience.
  • Must have strong relationship-building skills; proven track record of building collaborative partnerships as the basis for being able to influence direction and drive change.
  • Possess exceptional consultative skills that combine thought leadership, influential communication, and strategic problem solving to design and drive people-related change (can start with a blank sheet, design a plan/program/process and then systemically execute.)
  • Demonstrated experience in leading comprehensive organizational assessments that result in development and implementation of strategies that improve organizational performance and business outcomes. 
  • Demonstrated experience designing and facilitating large scale workshops and senior leadership meetings.
  • Organization design experience; proven track record of being able to assess, diagnose and design creative and innovative organizational models and structures.  Experience working and designing in a matrix structure.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organization Development, Human Resources Management, Human Resources or related field.
  • Professional certifications in facilitation, change management, organization design, and/or assessments.

Salary Range: $134,800 USD - $211,900 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
