Northrop Grumman’s Mission Systems sector is looking for a Manager, Programs Level 3 to support the Chief Technology Office Innovation Ecosystem. The department has responsibility for all innovation focused IR&D across the sector. Focus areas include emerging technology, disruptive innovation, rapid prototyping, and internal crowdsourcing with wide technology focus to encompass all sector operating divisions. The selected candidate will manage a portfolio of IR&D efforts and work with divisions to transition into new products, discriminators, and programs leading a multi-disciplinary team of approximately 5-10 of matrix functional support.
The primary objective will be responsible for leading all phases of multiple efforts from ideation and concept development, to coalition building and traditional Program Management tasking including cost, schedule, and technical performance of the portfolio, and interfacing as the lead with internal and external customers, vendors, and company support organizations.
Program Managers are also be responsible for helping product divisions expand their customer base, identify growth opportunities, and play significant role in bid and proposal activities. Interfacing with other integral parts of the innovation ecosystem including University Research team and Intellectual Property team to identify technology mature enough to pull into other IRAD /CRAD projects and/or commercial licensing will also be required.
Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering or Computer Science discipline and 9+ years’ experience including team leadership positions. •Strong technical background in the research, development, and operation of military sensor systems. •Experience leading the performance of tasks on schedule, at cost and achieving all requirements as the project or technical lead. •Demonstrated success leading teams to achieve a common goal•Performs complex tasks and participates in determining objectives of assignment. Plan schedules and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives. •The ability to recognize and respond to executive and customer goals to rapidly develop outcomes leading to additional sales supporting sector objectives
Preferred Qualifications:
•Master or higher Degree in Engineering preferred•10+ years’ experience including as senior technical lead or engineering manager positions.•2 years' experience managing development for advanced electronics, radar, EO/IR, SIGINT, cyber or communications systems.
