Global Supply Chain Strategic Sourcing works directly with Division & Functional Leadership to shape our long term strategies to position our supply chain as a competitive advantage.  No day will look the same. You will lead and own long term projects centered around Digital Transformation and Mission Product Lifecycle Management (MPLM). This includes supporting the Digital Transformation Office as they implement new and exciting improvements to our GSC processes. This can include leading a pilot within the MS sector, assisting in identifying technical requirements, setting up demo’s with suppliers, and much more. This position can be worked in our Linthicum, MD or virtual.

We are looking for an experienced and cross-functional leader, comfortable executing in ambiguous situations, and able to quickly come up to speed to work autonomously across a fast moving demand.  Horsepower is critical but passion for our mission and a willingness to be flexible in helping us accomplish it is a must.  

Position Description:

  • You will primarily support the Digital Transformation Office as they implement new and exciting improvements to our GSC processes. This can include leading a pilot within the MS sector, assisting in identifying technical requirements, setting up demo’s with suppliers, and much more.
  • You will support the GSC organization within MPLM, setting priorities and negotiating value for GSC on who, how, and when to bring our suppliers into the digital design review process.  You will be expected to understand how GSC processes work and how to improve Operational Efficiencies within the processes to support the mission and provides value to our Programs for execution.
  • Own cross-functional and highly visible strategic initiatives on efforts such as Long Range Material Forecasting in support of MPLM, our Division needs, and our risk governance process.
  • Become the connective tissue across the organization.  You will be exposed to macro conversations at the highest levels as well as the tactical work our teams are driving.  You will be expected to communicate up, down, and across the organization to ensure we are all moving in the same direction.
  • Capable to present to Executive Management (i.e. VP Advanced & Strategic Operations, Operations Division Executives (ODEs), Strategic Growth, etc.) to provide clarity on the advancement on your initiatives within the Sector and Supply Chain.
  • Become a core member of the Strategic Sourcing Team driving Annual and Quarterly plans for the support teams performing pieces of our Assessment & Strategic Make/Buy Trade Processes.
  • Frequently communicate with business and technical leadership and translate high level conversations into action.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree from an accredited institution
  • -15+ years of supply chain, project management, process improvement and/or related experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, 13+ years of supply chain, project management, process improvement and/or related with a Master’s Degree. 
  • -Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • -Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking and innovative behaviors in past projects, roles or experiences
  • -Proficiency in MS Office suite

Preferred Requirements:

  • Prior experience leading large projects collaborating across functions (Manufacturing, Global Supply Chain, Engineering, etc.)
  • Prior experience within Global Supply Chain processes to support program execution
  • Prior experience working Product Lifecyle Management tools, especially when using in collaboration with external suppliers for internal cross-functional needs.
  • Prior experience with Siemens PLM software.
  • Prior experience with the Business Acquisition Process (BAP)

Salary Range: $117,200 USD - $184,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
