As an Electrical Reliability Engineer at Northrop Grumman you will have a challenging and rewarding opportunity to be a part of our Enterprise-wide digital transformation. We are seeking an Enthusiastic, Motivated Electrical Engineer to join our team at our Linthicum, Maryland location, The typical responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Supporting programs and their mission of performing electrical root cause failure analysis and setting up and executing device life testing.
  • Responsible for identifying and researching failures down to component level and supporting multiple programs ability to meet schedule, yield, reliability targets.
  • Defining and execution of environmental and reliability testing; which includes test setup, instrumentation, data logging, analysis, and report generation.
This role is a highly cross-functional role, working directly with engineers of various disciplines, program management, quality, and manufacturing. Having a solid understanding of these various disciplines is a plus!

Basic Qualifications A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria:
  • Engineering degree (Bachelor or Masters) in Electrical Engineering
  • Have minimum 2 years of professional work experience (0 with Masters) in a related engineering field.
  • Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
  • Perform failure analysis which include external visual photo-documentation, electrical test, non-destructive troubleshooting, destructive test and present technical findings to customers
  • Learn and operate the laboratory equipment such as IR Scope, X-Ray, Scanning Electron Microscope, Acoustic Microscope (C-SAM)
  • Read schematics and layouts and apply failure analysis procedures to identify the failure location, failure mechanism, and the root causes.
  • Experience with electronic test equipment (digital/analog) such as curve tracers, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and test systems to do board failure analysis and debugging.
  Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience and/or detailed understanding of power supply circuitry
  • Hands-on experience in a laboratory setting, instrumenting tests and collecting data.
  • Hands-on experience with diagnosing electrical and mechanical systems to the lowest level (PCBA & small components)
