About Your Opportunity:

The Northrop Grumman Communications team in the UK is looking for a strategically-focused Communications manager to develop the UK organisation’s strategic communication plan across the full range of marcomms activities including external communications, brand development, events and employee communication strategies. The role is also responsible for the execution and delivery of NG UK’s PR, Digital, Social and advertising campaigns.

Your Responsibilities: 

  • Design and implement an integrated communication strategy which builds NG UK’s reputation externally, and NG culture internally.
  • Deliver structured engagement with customers, media, employees and the community including via events, partnerships and membership organisations.
  • Develop and lead a UK PR and media engagement plan including speaking to relevant media and managing requests for interviews and public statements by senior leadership
  • Evolve the NG UK digital presence through channels such as, LinkedIn and the NG UK intranet.
  • Manage a team responsible for NG UK’s employee communications and events & partnerships
  • Be accountable for ensuring that communications budgets, schedules, and performance standards are met.

Your Experience

  • Experience of leading a marketing-communications function and developing end-to-end, multi-channel communications plans
  • Delivering external communications campaigns, earned and unearned, via web and social media (LinkedIn particularly) to multiple audiences
  • Identifying and actively pitching proactive news stories, features and NG spokespeople to UK national and trade media
  • Writing press releases and feature stories for external publication
  • Managing and leveraging relationships with third party stakeholder organisations, e.g. membership organisations, professional bodies, think tanks etc.
