Job Summary

The United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) LNO will serve as a liaison from the Joint Staff (JS) Joint National Training Capability (JNTC) to USSOCOM for Accredited training programs/Certified sites.  The USSOCOM JNTC LNO must possess a thorough understanding of the technical and operational aspects of joint training and the supported USSOCOM programs.  Analyzes USSOCOM program actions and writes Weekly Activity Reports, JNTC Event Data Reports, Program Summary Reports (annually), and research and writes 3-4 articles annually for the JNTC Journal. LNOs directly interact with active military officers (O-5 through O-7), government civilians (GS 13 through GS 15) and numerous stakeholders within the JS and supported service.  This position is located in Tampa, FL.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide direct, on-site, and regional joint training support with assigned personnel supporting all the JNTC Accredited and/or Certified programs within USSOCOM.
  • Assist in the JNTC Accreditation/Certification/Mitigation (ACM) processes and track training transformation mitigation issues identified during ACM processes by serving as a liaison between the command and the JS in finding solutions, efficiencies, and planning for the future.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of JNTC processes working as a senior level subject matter expert.
  • Support JNTC mitigation in the development of courses of action, Mitigation Action Plans, and Programs of Actions and Milestones to mitigate deficiencies within USSOCOM Accredited and Certified training programs/sites.
  • Review joint context capabilities, identify joint training environment recommendations, share lessons learned, collect best practices, capture issues, and identify shortfalls affecting the ability to perform or support joint training within USSOCOM Accredited and Certified training programs/sites.
  • Represent DD JS J7 in the field providing the joint interface across the joint training enterprise and engage at the O-5 through O-7 level.
  • This position includes travel to locations within the supported organization’s area of responsibility.

Minimum Job requirements

Required

  • Bachelor's degree - 6 years’ experience or Master’s degree - 4 years’ experience.  Additional experience may be used in lieu of degree.
  • 15 years of military experience
  • Operational level experience at a USSOCOM or Joint Task Force level staff
  • Ability to prioritize work and complete multiple tasks under various deadlines
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be organized and detailed oriented
  • Ability to travel to both CONUS and OCONUS locations in support of the task order (travel requirements 15%)
  • Active Top Secret clearance and be SCI eligible
  • Current U.S. Passport or ability to obtain a Passport

Preferred

  • Graduate of the Joint Forces Staff College or Service/agency equivalent
  • Combatant Command or JS J7 Staff experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with and around senior military and government personnel
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following JNTC-accredited USSOCOM joint training programs:  Emerald Warrior, Sage Eagle (formerly named Jade Helm), Jaded Thunder, MARSOC Raven, and Trident.

Information Systems

  • Must be computer literate and proficient in MS Office Tools to include MS SharePoint and MS Teams
