Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a Program Manager 1 for the D5 Program organization in our Propulsion Systems Business in Magna (Bacchus) Utah.

The D5 program has exciting opportunities for aspiring program managers to grow their careers. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing schedules, coordination with all three production plants (Bacchus, Promontory and Clearfield) as well as coordinating motor shipments on and off plant. Scope also includes management of program risk, budget and schedule.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the management of cost, schedule, and technical performance of program objectives and include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading and directing cross-functional Integrated Program Teams (IPT) to meet program cost, schedule and technical performance objectives

  • Identification, distribution, tracking, and completion of program requirements

  • Conducting thorough risk & opportunity management practices including identification, mitigation and captures

  • Development and adherence to master plans and schedules

  • Development and adherence to budget baselines utilizing Earned Value Management (EVM) or similar cost & schedule control methodologies and tools

  • Identifying, allocating and managing program resources, measuring and reporting program performance

  • Continuously improving by addressing customer concerns and implementing corrective actions as necessary

  • Supporting new business opportunities through long term strategic planning, capture planning, and development of proposals and business plans

  • Delivering presentations to customers, management and other program stakeholders

  • Establishing design, processes and supply chain concepts, criteria, and engineering efforts for product development, integration and maintaining certification for flight

  • Managing Government/customer supplied property or information to meet contract requirements

  • Facilitate generation of contract change estimates and proposals in response to customer and program needs

  • Have the capacity to understand people issues impacting the business

  • Continuously drive for results and challenge the status quo

  • Have proven ability to influence others

  • Strategic thinking to successfully complete the program to the requirements, within cost and on-time

  • Thorough understanding of the procurement process flow through purchase order release

  • Managing suppliers to meet program objectives including cost management, negotiation of change orders and driving on time deliveries

  • Adherence to all internal processes, policies, and applicable industry standards

  • Ensuring IPT adheres to contract scope, and manages change

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 5+ years of experience or Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to multi task and balance multiple projects simultaneously

  • Working level knowledge of all Microsoft Office Applications

  • Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain a secret clearance


Salary Range: 101200 - 151600

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
