This position will need to be able to work in the Los Angeles area.. Northrop Grumman Propulsion Systems in Utah has an opening for a Supply Chain Programs Manager supporting Rocket Motor Nozzle fabrication. Selected candidate will be responsible and accountable for the strategy, planning, and execution of all outsourced Nozzle assembly fabrication and services supporting a collection of Programs. Acts as the main focal point for the Program Management Office (PMO) for the entire supply chain and coordinates cross-functionally to ensure that all supply chain commitments are met, and that appropriate mitigation plans are developed and executed to address any programmatic risks related to suppliers. Develops the material strategy and leads the activities for Global Supply Chain (GSC) in all phases of the Business Acquisition Process (BAP). Ensures that prior to program execution, all elements of the proposed program(s) plans, have complete and accurate schedules, budgets, make/buy plans, procurement and subcontracts strategies. Leads supply chain Program execution and is accountable for resource planning, material cost, forecasting, schedule performance, risk/opportunity management, supplier performance, and supply chain issue resolution. Briefs the PMO and executive management on the status and issues affecting Program cost and schedule performance.

Selected candidate will oversee and manage the applicable suppliers fabricating nozzle subsystem assemblies supporting multiple NG programs and potentially additional suppliers supporting build to print parts.

Will serve as liaison between Supply Chain subcontract administrators, production planning, material planning, procurement quality control, material program managers and V-set leads.

This position will be responsible for the following:

  • Holding weekly procurement, Integrated Product Team (IPT)  meetings supporting supplier nozzle fabrication. Ensuring a Manufacturing Readiness Review is preformed and approved by NG prior to product fabrication, which encompasses approved process plans, latest revision of engineering requirements, and all applicable materials needed to support nozzle fabrication process.

  • Working closely with suppliers ensuring they have equipment, experienced fabricators, calibrated tools, capacity, capability, operational effectiveness, and efficiencies to produce nozzle assemblies in support of multiple programs schedules.

  • Ensure the supplier understands all requirements and can effectively manage and communicate applicable and necessary information to all sub-tier suppliers to achieve zero defect results and consistently meet program build requirements and schedules.  

  • Be proactive to ensure that Nozzle fabrication requirements and processes have been properly communicated to the applicable internal and external teams.   
  •  Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with any material or fabrication issues that develop.

  • Provides resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and operations goals and objectives and must be able to multitask in a high paced, manufacturing environment.

 A successful candidate has experience managing complex problems and providing attainable solutions. Regularly interfaces with high level leadership and has experience holding stakeholders accountable.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10 years’ experience in Supply Chain Management, Project Management, or Program Integration/Execution with bachelor’s or similar. Relevant work experience may be substituted in lieu of degree (15 to 18 years).
  • Process improvement and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Office tool suite; the ability to create, manage, and manipulate the tools, especially PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Proven leadership experience on a project and/or team
  • Experience interfacing and communicating cross-functionally with all levels of employees and leadership

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Project Management or Engineering
  • Experience with Scheduling ERP or MRP systems
  • Experience in managing manufacturing processes, productivity, capacity, and efficiency measurements
  • Experience in the Aerospace/Defense Industry managing and working with materials used in rocket motor manufacturing
  • Remote in the Los Angeles area.

Salary Range: $93,800 USD - $140,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
