Northrop Grumman Space Systems is currently looking for an Engineering Technician 3 to work in the testing group at our Magna, Utah - Bacchus location.

Description & Responsibilities:

As an Engineering Technician in our Testing group you will have responsibilities that include Ordnance installation on rocket motors, Installation of Thrust Vector Control systems on rocket motors, instrumentation of rocket motors for flight and static testing and perform load testing and visual inspection of tooling while following detailed work instructions. Technician will work closely with process and test engineering referring to product drawings/blue prints and test plans. Work related travel will be required to support activities to possibly include but not limited to the following sites. Promontory UT., Cape Canaveral Fl., NAWC Ca, VAFB Ca, Fort Greely AK.

•  Perform pre-installation inspection of ordnance.
•  Perform installation of ordnance to include ignition systems, separation systems and destruct systems on GEM    motors with customer oversite. 
•  Installation and testing of thrust vector systems on production motors, static fire motors, new programs and    requalification motors. 
•  Perform programing, testing, installation and down loading of digital shock recorders for shipments of rocket    motors.  
•  Perform installation of instrumentation to monitor motor performance during flight on multiple programs.
•  Perform load testing of new and existing tooling to ensure requirements are met.
•  Conducts annual visual inspections of Mobile cranes, forklifts, nylon and wire rope slings and other production    tooling.
•  Accountability and control of energetic materials.
•  Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Preferred Qualifications:

•  Experience/ Working knowledge of instrumentation/testing work instructions, drawings, materials and equipment.
•  Prefer experience to include working with energetics and or energetic ordnance.
•  Proficient with computer applications, such as Word, Access, Excel, etc.
•  Ability to review and interpret work instructions, designs and drawings, with tooling and end item processes and products.


•  Prefer Associates Degree in a related discipline and 2 years of related experience. 
•  Related special certifications and applicable equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of Associates degree.
•  Must possess or be able to acquire a Explosive Possessor Certification from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.  


•  Ability to acquire and maintain a Security Clearance is required, which requires US Citizenship as a pre-requisite.

Salary Range: $51,300 USD - $85,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
