Northrop Grumman Space Systems is looking for a Finance Manager 3 to support our Magna, UT location. This position reports to the Director of Finance.

Responsibilities Include the following:
  • Lead team of accounting and finance professionals in managing task assignment, resource allocation, prioritization, and completion dates.
  • Serve in multidimensional role as team leader and working team member responsible for supporting accounting close and systems processing activities including, but not limited to: preparing journal entries, managing critical segments of financial systems and close schedule processing Successfully support and maintain approved status of Business Systems in accordance with FAR and DFARS requirements.
  • Support Sector financial reporting and various ad-hoc requests and analyses in support of the Business Unit, Division, Sector and Corporation.
  • Support internal, SOX, DCAA and external audits.
  • Perform and lead cross-training for accounting close, reporting, and application setup and maintenance.
  • Manage processes and documentation for application setups and maintenance.
  • Communicate effectively within the team, and with internal and external customers for accounting support as well as related processes, tools, rates and factors.
  • Coordinate effectively with all other team members and internal process owners, including, but not limited to, program finance, contracts, program operations, and business leadership.
  • Role requires strong commitment to elevating team capability and focus on methods to improve or ensure handoffs occur as seamlessly as possible from the customer point of view.
    Candidate will be expected to
  • Provide valuable review, insight, and recommendations to Business Management, and Program leadership above and beyond simple reporting.
  • Exhibit a high degree of flexibility on fast changing, fast growing, and high visibility projects and program(s).
  • Serve as lead interface with applicable customers, subcontractors and auditors (internal and external).
  • Develop and motivate a professional staff in a team environment with excellent interpersonal, planning, presentation and organizational skills.
 Additional Information: Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports. Maintains or oversees the control of accounts and records in such areas as disbursements, expenses, tax payments, and income. Compiles and analyzes financial information to record transactions, prepare reports, and review and verify accuracy. Prepares balance sheet and profit and loss statements, consolidated financial statements, and other accounting schedules and reports. May design, modify, install, and/or maintain accounting systems to ensure an adequate recognition of financial transactions. Responsible for the adherence to and communication of accounting and auditing policies and procedures.

Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance/Business with a minimum of 10 years applicable experience
• Understanding of GAAP, Government Cost Accounting Standards and FAR/DFARS
• Proven professional track record, ability to collaborate in a team environment, and demonstrated managerial skills
• Proven ability to develop and retain talent   Preferred Qualifications: 
• Proficient in Costpoint or equivalent, and related tools and applications
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) a plus• MBA preferred but not required
