Job Description : Conduct research, development, and manufacturing of III-V compound semiconductors and advanced microelectronics materials. Developing and optimizing GaN-, InP-, and GaAs-based materials using molecular beam epitaxy. Be involved in researching of next-generation materials. Support and be involved in the maintenance and operation of MBE vacuum systems and semiconductor metrology equipment. Collaborate with process engineers for any manufacturing design improvement: product quality, efficiency and product cost. Provide written documentation of procedures, setups, and experimental results, with strong attention to details. Provide material control support in the purchasing, acceptance, and tracking of semiconductor materials in a production setting.

Must be able to work in a lab environment and be able to lift 20-25 lbs. unassisted

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelors of Science degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) field from an accredited institution plus 5 years of semiconductor and/or material growth experience, or MS + 3 years of relevant work

Ability to collaborate in a team environment

Experience supporting operations with work instructions

Preferred Qualifications:

PhD degree in a STEM field is preferred.

Hands-on experience with the operation and maintenance of a molecular beam epitaxy growth system

Proficiency with materials characterization techniques or analysis such as x-ray diffraction, Atomic Force Microscopy, Photoluminescence, non-destructive electrical measurements, and Hall effect measurements


Salary Range: $101,400 USD - $152,200 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
