Northrop Grumman Space Systems has an opening for an Electronic Technician Assembler 2. The selected candidate will join the Ground Manufacturing Lab Assembly team. The position is based out of Manhattan Beach, CA. The selected candidate will have some experience in assembly operations, familiarity with shop routines and use of hand and power tools. In this role, the selected candidate will be trained and certified within the first weeks of employment. This individual will be expected to:
  • Work from drawings, blueprints, manufacturing specifications and procedures, quality procedures and instructions, operations work sheets and company, military and customer specifications procedures.
  • May require working with adhesives, chemical cleaners, coating materials and other commonly used chemicals used in manufacturing.
  • May disassemble, modify, rework and reassemble assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications.
  • Make continuity checks on work in process and completed.
  • May conduct quality inspections on processing line in accordance with quality specifications.
  • Adhere to all applicable environmental, safety and health, and operations procedures and directives.
  • Notify supervision of any/all malfunctions, defects and damages of equipment, material and product and check work for completeness and accuracy.
  • Perform Production Accountability duties associates with the processing, verification, and quality auditing and inspection of assemblies, parts and tooling for which the individual has been delegated production accountability.
  • Keep work area clean and orderly.
The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.  Candidate must be comfortable in a lab environment and be able to collaborate closely with system engineers, hardware designers, and integration/test engineers. Basic Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related Technician experience Experience in assembly operations, and familiarity with shop routines Previous experience handling and using hand and power tools
Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience working in a manufacturing setting. Prior experience working with electronics. Experience in interpreting shop math, blueprints, electronic data, specifications, manuals, operations work sheets, and verbal instructions.
