Northrop Grumman Marines Systems specializes in the development, manufacture assembly and testing of propulsion, and power generation systems for naval surface ships and submarines. The Inventory Manufacturing 2 Manager Job entails leading a team of represented warehouse/tool crib employees, to receive, store, kit, cycle count, and deliver Northrop and Customer owned inventory to meet manufacturing needs. They will manage workflow, resources, and staffing, training, continuous improvement projects, audits and compliance procedures to support the business. This position will be working in our Sunnyvale, CA facility.
Additional responsibilities will be to interface with Sr. Manufacturing Leadership, Engineering, Program office, Supply chain and DCMA auditors.
What you will need to do:
- Ensuring all members of the team are trained to company and OSHA requirements
- Coordinate, Maintain and track Employee Training/Certifications.
- Lead the implementation of Lean Principles and Continuous improvement efforts
- Manage the support for all aspects and phases of production Inventory and consumable and fixed tooling from receipt through issuance.
- Responsible for the cost and warehouse performance of kitting material to Manufacturing
- Identifies process problems and work with requisition writers, Inventory Planner and warehouse and crib attendants.
- Directs the work of assigned Employees. Interfaces with Employee representatives as required. Conducts performance reviews with Employees and provides timely feedback on performance.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree with minimum 8 years of Material Control or relevant experience
- Master's Degree with a minimum 6 years of Material Control or relevant experience.
- 3+ years of team lead and or direct management experience of people
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
- MRP and ERP Systems experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with a low volume, high mix manufacturing environment
- Experience in developing training plans
- Experience in program management of US Government contracts
- Experience in Earned Value Management
- Familiarity with government contracting, overhead budget pools, and understanding implications and impacts of resource planning decisions on business costs critical to this position.
