Northrop Grumman Defense Systems Sector is currently seeking a  Financial Reporting Analyst/ Principal Reporting Analyst to join our diverse professionals in McLean, VA. The selected candidate will become a part of our Sector Headquarters Financial Reporting team.

This position will report to the Manager of Financial Reporting and assist in the monthly close process. This high impact role will work closely with sector, division and program business management teams.

Position Responsibilities and duties include:

  • Assist with the sector monthly and quarterly financial close deliverables
  • Coordinate and consolidate financial statements
  • Maintain month-end closing documentation
  • Assist with preparation of year-end financial reporting packages and tax packages
  • Prepare financial statement analytics and other quarterly management reports
  • Provide audit support related to SOX, internal and external financial statement audits
  • Maintain the Financial Reporting department’s SOX documentation and evidence of the operation of controls
  • Provide financial reporting support for other reporting projects as assigned

Financial Analyst:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience or a Master’s degree and 1 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with financial statements and general accounting principles
  • Experience with External SEC reporting requirements

Principal Financial Analyst:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, with a minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience or a Master’s degree and 4 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with financial statements and general accounting principles
  • Experience with External SEC reporting requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified public accountant
  • Experience with SAP, Business Warehouse and/or Hyperion Financial Management
  • The ability to work on-site in McLean, Virginia
  • Prior experience in the aerospace & defense industry
  • Self-motivated, yet functions well in a team environment
  • Detail and results oriented; ability to deliver timely and accurate results under time sensitive conditions
  • Analytical; makes recommendations using acquired data and cumulative experience
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills

Salary Range: $68,100 USD - $102,100 USD
Salary Range 2: $83,800 USD - $125,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
