We are a First Responder Solutions team developing commercial software products that support Police, Fire and EMS agencies responding to 911 calls.If you are interested in putting your software development and testing skills to work transforming the future of public safety agencies, you will be tasked to work side by side with other engineers supporting a broad portfolio of products with customers across the United States and international locations. These positions will focus on executing against requirements from a variety of customer contracts while also supporting a strategic roadmap that is focused on modernizing our legacy software by bringing our products to the cloud, moving functionality to web-based applications and introducing new and innovative solutions using microservices technologies. 
Roles and Responsibilities:  Engineers on our teams all participate in the following activities:
  • Design software using industry standard design patterns and best practices
  • Work with the system engineering team to understand customer business needs and priorities
  • Define software requirements, both functional and non-functional, as high level epics, features and user stories to support scaled agile framework methodology
  • Develop prototypes to support product and/or technology evaluations
  • Develop automated unit and integration tests that can be incorporated into continuous integration (CI)/continuous development (CD) pipeline.
  • Provide production and operational support, as needed, to ensure deployed software meets functional and non-functional requirements.

Basic Qualifications 
A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must: 
  • Has completed their degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD) from an accredited institution
  • Be majoring in or having majored in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering, or related discipline
  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile)
  • Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.7/4.0 or higher  
  • Experience developing single page applications using a client-side rendering framework (AngularJS, Angular, React, etc.) and responsive CSS framework (Bootstrap, Material Design, etc.)
  • Experience developing service-based solutions using the Java technology stack, building REST-based services (Spring MVC, Spring Boot, etc.), and deploying in a container-based microservices architecture (Docker, Spring Boot, Kubernetes, etc.)
  • Experience with C/C++/C# based client/server architectures
  • Experience with XAML and/or HTML/CSS based MVC and/or MVVC User Interface development
  • Experience in enterprise software system modernization efforts
  • Experience in cloud based environments including the development of software that supports architectures that involve public/hybrid clouds
  • Experience developing and deploying software systems in an incremental manner using the scaled agile framework methodology
  • Experience with static code analyzers (CAST, HP Fortify, SonarQube, etc.)
  • Experience developing structured transactional database solutions using an RDBMS database (Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc
  • Experience developing high volume, highly available, and secure software systems
  • Experience in Public Safety Systems
  • Experience with/modifying legacy systems
  • Demonstrable competency in at least one procedural and one object oriented language
  • Experience with built in functional and unit testing, developing in a test driven manner
  • Experience in automated testing using SmartBear’s TestComplete
  • Experience in developing applications using Esri’s ArcGIS SDKs
