Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Aircraft Maintenance Planning Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.

The selected candidate will perform system engineering and integration tasks relating to Product Support IPTs within the Logistics and Modernization (L&M) organization, and represent Product Support in interaction with Design Engineering and IPT support. Prior experience in maintenance of mechanical or electrical subsystems, is required.

The candidate will be required to assist in the identification, analysis, quantification and influence of logistics requirements to support the weapon system including spares, support equipment, technical data, training, facilities, and personnel.

Essential Functions:

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings

  • Evaluate field feedback for updates to technical product data

  • Translate engineering data into maintenance instructions and source data for incorporation into technical product data

  • Investigate and adjudicate discrepancies between engineering and technical data

  • Maintain knowledge of database tools

  • The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels. The candidate should be well organized, pay a great deal of attention to detail, possess good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Candidate must be proficient in verbal and written communication, and be able to collaborate closely with engineers, management, and technical writers.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or related field and 2 years of aircraft maintenance or engineering experience OR a Master’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or related field and 0 years of aircraft maintenance or engineering experience.

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Security Clearance

  • Must have 2 years or experience reading and interpret aircraft drawings and technical manuals

Preferred Qualifications:

  • FAA Airframe and Power Plant License

  • Experience with 707 Aircraft Maintenance on Airframe, Structures and Powerplants

  • Active DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher

  • Experience with authoring aircraft technical manuals

Salary Range: 64200 - 96200

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
