Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Electronics Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.

This Electronics Engineer will support a cleared program within the Communications, Navigation, and Identification area.  Specifically, this position will support technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for Communications subsystems.  
 
The successful candidate should possess a basic understanding of model based requirements and design and excellent data analytics skills. The candidate will support preparation of detailed requirements specifications and interfaces, design documents and procedures, certification plans and procedures, performance reports, as well as perform traceability to platform requirements.

The selected engineer is expected to be a highly motivated self-starter with an ability to operate effectively with a team of engineers and should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.


Essential Functions\Skills:

  • Knowledge of Communication Systems Engineering principles and related analyses

  • Experience with Civil and Military Line of Sight Airborne platform radio integration

  • Experience with Military Navigation and Navigation Aids

  • Experience with Requirements Performance Verification & Validation

  • Experience with Component Qualifications for Flight

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management

  • Possess good oral, writing, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Experience with technical oversight of CNI suppliers

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university or a Master’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university

  • Must be familiarity with Systems Engineering practices and processes

  • Must have experience in requirements flow down, maintenance and management of requirements through the use of DOORS

  • Revise and manage requirements specifications

  • Must have an Active, In-Scope DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher that has been granted / renewed within the past 6 years

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain special program access prior to start

Salary Range: 87400 - 131200

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
