Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Sr. Principal System Test Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and direct preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans/reports, procedures and schedules that acknowledge technical and schedule constraints

  • Perform technical interactions with the system test team to ensure system requirements are being verified

  • Perform requirements analysis and decomposition including developing derived requirements as needed to test the system

  • Develop test equipment and simulation requirements

  • Supporting development, integration, and execution of test pass/fail quantitative metrics

  • Performing troubleshooting as required

  • Writing Defects and Software discrepancies

  • Performing Component to Component Integration

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and 9+ years of experience in systems, integration and test environments OR Master’s degree in STEM discipline from an accredited university and 7+ years of experience in systems, integration and test environments OR PhD degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and 5+ years of experience in systems, integration and test environments

  • Must have experience testing software subsystems/systems

  • Must have an active In-scope DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher that has been granted / renewed within the past 6 years

  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance as well as Program Special Access and SCI within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering

  • Experience as a lead working in a lab environment

  • Experience with integrating software and hardware

  • Knowledge/Experience of automated software testing methodologies and processes

  • Experience with linux/unix operating systems

  • Experience with Agile software development and Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket, Nexus, Fisheye, etc)

  • An active, In-scope DoD Secret or Top Secret security clearance with SCI


Salary Range: 98500 - 147700

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
