Northrop Grumman's Aeronautics Systems sector is currently hiring a Staff-level Systems Engineer (Life Cycle Cost) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This opportunity is located in Melbourne, FL.

This Life Cycle Cost Engineer will support various space programs in the very early phase of development, where strategy is developed to shape a major capture.  It requires technical knowledge and economic acumen to formulate LCC analysis approaches and methods to provide senior leadership the ability to make actionable decisions in a very agile manner.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • This position is responsible for performing Life Cycle Cost (LCC), Design to Cost (DTC), Cost as an Independent Variable (CAIV) and Cost Reduction Initiative (CRI) analysis.
  • Analytical tools/approaches leveraged include commercial/Government parametric models, such as PRICE and SEER as well as custom developed parametrics determining correlation between operational or technical requirements and cost.
  • The position requires experience developing complex cost models using advanced cost estimating techniques as well as excellent interpersonal skills required to solicit input, synthesize data, and communicate results to various levels of leadership.
  • Leadership skill is required to lead and mentor more junior team members and interns.  
  • The analysis performed is done in a non-advocacy manner representing the organization as an “honest broker” providing credible cost analysis.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 14 years of engineering experience OR a Master’s degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 12 years of engineering experience OR a PhD in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 9 years of engineering experience.
  • Experience with DoD Acquisition principles and guides; i.e. MIL-STD 881E, O&S CAPE Guide, DAU Guide on Systems Engineering, etc.  
  • Experience developing cost research models and cost risks analysis for complex systems aerospace systems.
  • Experience in performing cost estimating activities such as cost analysis, statistical analysis, WBS development, and risk analysis.
  • Must be able to attain and maintain an active DoD Secret security clearance prior to the commencement of employment.
  • Must be able to attain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR/SAP) prior to the commencement of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Cost Data Analysis and Predictive Analytics; Tableau & Alteryx 
  • Experience working with data visualization software (e.g., MS Excel including macros, Tableau Desktop, QlikView, MS Power BI, etc.) or any other data analysis software applications
  • Experience with data mining/analytics programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, or BA
  • Working knowledge of cost parametric tools: ACEIT, SEER from Galorath and PRICE Systems & Analytics 
  • Experience working with SEER-H, VBA and PRICE TruePlanning
  • Experience using Microsoft Office suite of tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills across multiple levels

Salary Range: 134400 - 201600

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
