Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Cyber Systems Engineer, to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL, where technology and teamwork come together.

Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators.  Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.  Ancillary duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space. 

The selected candidate will support the Cyber team and user community.  Training will occur on first shift before transferring to either second shift or weekend shift (alternate shifts include pay differential).

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain availability of Test Station and Software Development Environment

  • Collecting and reporting system data metrics

  • Ensure systems adhere to program configuration and data management plans

  • Perform Lab Operations Policy and Procedures as being executed and updated (E0-7409 and Lab Ops Standard Operating Procedures)

  • Provide support of system and network assessments within the environment or enclave and identify where systems and networks deviate from acceptable configurations, enclave policy, or local policy while generating Plan of Actions and Milestones POA&M

  • Assist in the implementation of the required government policy, make recommendations on process tailoring, participate in and document process activities

  • Support the formal Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E) required by each government accrediting authority through pre-test preparations, participation in the tests, analysis of the results and preparation of required reports

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 2+ years of cyber and/or systems administration experience OR Master’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university OR a minimum of 6+ years of experience in either cyber or system administration in lieu of bachelor’s degree

  • Must have DoD 8570 Level 2 Certification, such as Security+ CE

  • Must have an Active, In-Scope, DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher with full investigation completed within the last 6 years

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain program access prior to commencement of employment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Systems Administration knowledge to include either Windows, Linux, or VM environments

  • Previous experience in at least one of the following; cybersecurity, Information Assurance experience, and/or system administration

  • VMware environment experience

  • Experience with security relevant tools and audit logging software

  • Perform compliance audits and active evaluations such as vulnerability assessments

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management


Salary Range: 77600 - 116400

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
