Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a highly motivated Principal Systems Engineer to primarily support a Navy test program as part of the System Test Team based out of Melbourne, FL.

In this role, the successful candidate will provide support for all system test activities, to include test planning, creation of required test procedures, post test data analysis, creation of problem reports, and reporting on test results. Candidate shall display professionalism, leadership, have a strong work ethic, work well with others, and be able to function as member of a dynamic System Test Team.

Key Responsibilities:              

  • Assist with the development and peer review of test documentation
  • Assist with the decomposition of program and system requirements into test requirements
  • Assist with the development of Specialty, Lab, Ground, and Flight Test Programs
  • Assist with the definition of test facility requirements. 
  • Participate in test planning

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline with 5 years of relevant experience OR Master’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline with 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Must have experience generating technical documents and working with various software/data processing tools such as MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and other various programming languages
  • Must have an understanding of common Test Engineering test methodologies and practices
  • Must have an active DoD Top Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)


Preferred Experience: 

  • Master’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline
  • Software test automation experience
  • Experience leading a small team or test effort

Salary Range: $79,700 USD - $119,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
