Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking for a System Engineering Manager 2 who will be responsible for the direct supervision & management of the Mission Engineering staff. This leadership position is based in Melbourne, FL.

The successful candidate will:
•    Ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget
•    Perform technical planning, cost and risk analyses for total systems
•    Lead data-driven Systems Engineering on new development programs
•    Be responsible for providing objective-oriented direction to team members utilizing management guidelines & general policies 
•    Will demonstrate full working knowledge of Systems Engineering procedures and practices
•    Balance staffing resources among programs and prioritize assignments based on program needs
•    Coordination of cost estimates
•    Work with functional homeroom in goal planning and performance evaluation
•    Demonstrate new system-of-systems concepts and efficacy of technology insertion to customers, technical leadership, and external organizations
•    Acquire industry standard toolsets and/or provide requirements for internal development of new modeling and simulation tools

•    Have experience building high performing teams

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 5 years’ of relevant professional/military experience to include a background in systems modeling, simulation, and analysis
  • Must have an active DoD Secret (or higher) clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
  • Knowledge of object-oriented or functional programming principles

 
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with applied probability and statistics
  • Experience with IEEE distributed simulation standards (HLA/DIS)
  • Proven record of effective communication and presentation skills
  • Experience in all aspects of the engineering development lifecycle
  • Knowledge of Navy aircraft acquisition processes
  • Familiarity with Agile Systems Engineering processes
  • Experience implementing modern engineering practices on legacy programs
  • Prior leadership experience as a manager or team lead

Salary Range: $123,900 USD - $185,900 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
