Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Computer Design Electronics Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Electronics & Payloads organization within our Global Surveillance division. This role is located in Melbourne FL.

Essential Functions:

  • The Computer Design engineer role will be responsible for performing design, analysis, integration, test, and supplier management of avionics hardware

  • Specific tasks include writing specifications, test procedures, performing analysis/test and generating test reports.  Knowledge of DOORs, MIL-STD-1553 and RTCA-DO-160 is preferred.  

  • Responsibilities include performing research/analyze existing COTS equipment, working with Systems Engineering to develop computer requirements, supplier technical interface to oversee design, design reviews and support program reviews to ensure supplier products meet requirements.

  • The ideal candidate will have experience performing ground and flight test of airborne or space electronics.

  • Experience with network configuration and integration is a plus.

  • Experience with integration of COTS electronics into military systems is a plus; and experience in working on a multidisciplinary team is preferred.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of related computer design engineering experience OR Master’s Degree in a (STEM) discipline from an accredited university

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret security clearance

  • Must have the ability to obtain Special Program Access

Preferred Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering

  • Experience with integration of COTS electronics into military systems

  • Experience with supplier team management

  • Experience with working on a multidisciplinary team

  • Experience with network configuration and integration

  • Experience with ground and flight test of airborne or space electronics

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management

  • A current, in scope DoD Secret or Top Secret level security clearance

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
