Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Structural Engineering Manager 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Vehicle Engineering organization. This leadership role is located in Melbourne, FL.  

The successful candidate will manage the functional engineering activities of ten to twenty Structural Analysis Engineers. The Section Manager is responsible for product integrity, process adherence, staffing, training and tools. Specific responsibilities include technical and process oversight, participation in the performance review process, management of personnel records and participation in corrective or disciplinary actions. Staffing responsibilities may include hiring, reduction in force actions, recruiting of personnel and working to ensure that analysts with the appropriate skills and experience are deployed. The ability to manage training opportunities and budget allocations, as well as participation in tool, process, and metric initiatives is required. The Section Manager will also perform IPT Structural Analysis leadership tasks, which will comprise the majority of the candidates work statement. Team engagement is a key focus. The ability to mentor, provide career guidance and coaching, and lead others is required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 9 years of related professional/military experience directly related to structural analysis to include a background in aircraft structural analysis OR a Master’s degree AND 7 years of related professional/military experience directly related to structural analysis to include a background in aircraft structural analysis

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Secret clearance (or higher) that is in-scope (granted or renewed within the last 6 years).

  • Current/Active Special Program Access (SAP) clearance.

  • Prior leadership experience

Salary Range: $123,900 USD - $185,900 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
