Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Staff Reliability Engineer, to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.

The Engineer will be assigned work in the Logistics & Modernization organization performing System Reliability & Maintainability (R&M) Engineering Analysis. The selected candidate will be responsible for establishing, monitoring, and verifying subsystem R&M performance requirements for all design changes and new development efforts to ensure that R&M program requirements are achieved. The primary responsibility of the position will be reliability, maintainability, and testability. 

Essential Functions:

  • Perform R&M allocations and predictions

  • Develop Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) analysis

  • Perform Built in Test (BIT) testability analysis

  • Perform mission reliability analysis

  • Failure tracking within the Failure Reporting Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS)

  • Experience with maintainability demonstrations

  • Develop/review/approve Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT), Reliability Growth Testing (RGT), and Environmental Stress Screening (ESS)

  • Liaison with Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and suppliers for the R&M of assigned subsystems

  • Develop Condition Based Maintenance Plus (CBM+) capabilities

The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 14 years’ relevant experience; OR Master’s Degree with 12 years’ relevant experience; OR a PhD with 9 years’ relevant experience

  • Must have experience in Reliability and Maintainability discipline

  • Must have an Active, DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Program Special Access within a reasonable period as determined by the company to meet business needs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) from an accredited university

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering

  • 14 years of experience in Reliability and Maintainability discipline

  • Must have an Active, In-Scope DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher that has been granted / renewed within last 6 years

  • Excellent 2-way communication skills (upward and downward)

  • Experience in CBM+ capabilities

  • Experience in developing Machine Learning applications to predictive maintenance

Salary Range: $122,500 USD - $183,700 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
