Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal/Sr Principal System Test Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within Integration and Test. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.

As a Test Engineer, utilizing your understanding of system test, you will be responsible for level I and level II system verification efforts, creating test procedures based on level I and level II requirements, developing an expert understanding of your assigned subsystems, and utilizing test infrastructure to dry run and execute system level verification. '

Key Responsibilities:

  • Synthesizes customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledges technical, schedule and cost constraints
  • Develops and directs preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for completing systems
  • Coordinates integrated testing activities
  • Reviews and evaluates test requirements to insure completeness of test program
  • Performs technical analysis of complete systems and prepares comprehensive system level evaluations.

Basic Qualifications (Principal System Test Engineer):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline AND 5 years relevant experience OR Master's Degree in a (STEM) discipline AND 3 years relevant experience OR a PhD AND 0 years of experience
  • Must have experience in performing requirements analysis, developing/supporting test environment, integration and test, writing test plans, procedures and reports, verification and validation
  • Must have an active DoD SECRET or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access within a reasonable amount of time as deemed by the Company

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline AND 9 years relevant experience OR Master's Degree in a STEM discipline AND 7 years relevant experience OR PhD AND 4 years relevant experience
  • Must have experience in performing requirements analysis, developing/supporting test environment, integration and test, writing test plans, procedures and reports, verification and validation.
  • Must have an active DoD SECRET or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access within a reasonable amount of time as deemed by the Company

Preferred Qualifications:

  • The ability to obtain/maintain a Top Secret Clearance
  • Current Program Access
  • Experience supporting Test Execution as First Line Troubleshooter
  • Support Systems engineering to develop Verification Cross Reference Matrices
  • Able to collaborate in a team environment
  • Utilize Python to write automated system tests
  • Perform as the hardware responsible engineer for subsystems under test

Salary Range: $87,600 USD - $131,400 USD
Salary Range 2: $108,600 USD - $163,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
