Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems sector is seeking an Engineer EHS to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.  This position will be located in Melbourne, FL where technology and teamwork come together.  The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's EHS organization working in a collaborative environment while promoting a positive and proactive teamwork environment.

The EHS Engineer interprets, recommends, and complies with environmental, health and safety regulations and/or company policies.

Essential Functions include but not limited to:

·Identifies hazardous workplace conditions

·Takes preliminary samples and measurements of hazardous and toxic substances

·Removes hazards and/or protects employees by guarding, revising work procedures, and training or requiring use of protective clothing and personal protective equipment

·Takes effective steps to ensure that workplace conditions comply with applicable federal and state occupational safety and health standard provisions of any labor agreement and ensuring that all required records are prepared and maintained

·Participates in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections and in any actions that may follow a citation

·Investigates, prepares, and forwards as required reports on injuries and fatalities

·Oversees with guidance safety programs such as Job Hazard Analyses, Powered Industrial Trucks, Ergonomics, and Contractor Safety

·Conducts safe work procedures training courses.

Basic Qualifications:

·Bachelor of Science Degree, Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM), in occupational safety & health, industrial hygiene, environmental science, or a related field and a minimum of 2 years of experience in an EHS position

·Must have experience with at least one of the two: Managing various EHS compliance programs (such as powered industrial trucks, aviation safety, ergonomics, LOTO, etc.) based on the review and interpretation of EHS regulations, And/or Experience in completing industrial hygiene assessments and sampling

·Must have excellent communication and collaboration skills with all levels of an organization

·Must have the ability to solve complex problems by actively seeking information and new ideas from a variety of sources; consistently looking for novel ways to solve problems; mastering unfamiliar information, tasks and situations quickly and effectively

·Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

·Experience working in aerospace manufacturing environment

·Experience with Job Hazard Analysis, Powered Industrial Trucks, Ergonomics, and Contractor Safety

·Experience conducting safe work procedures training courses


Salary Range: $64,600 USD - $97,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
