Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Manager 3 of Technical Program Operations for the Engineering Technical Talent Development team to support the implementation of the strategy, development, and execution of learning solutions to equip and empower the approximately 8,000 engineers that comprise the Aeronautics Engineering organization. 

This leader will help to implement an overall talent development strategy and foster a culture of learning within NGAS, that is aligned with our engineers’ career paths and growth aspirations, that prepares our engineers to support our program, capture and advanced development efforts.  This role will support the development of innovative and affordable approaches to sourcing, developing and administering content, factoring in ever evolving talent development approaches, leveraging university and other strategic partnerships, and partnering with Human Resources, Engineering, and Talent Acquisition leaders, as well as cross-sector and NG corporate talent development organizations.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience leading or providing key contributions to talent development in a related technical field, will have a track record of strong collaboration and leading by influence, and have successfully demonstrated planning, and driven execution of plans.

This position will be based out of the Melbourne, FL NG facility. Moderate travel will be required

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Manages and maintains Engineering academic programs management and maintenance
  • Leads or supports administration of training course across all Engineering Community of Practices (CoPs)
  • Coordinates Engineering Cohort Support (e.g. Future Chief Engineer, Aircraft Conceptual Design)
  • Provides orientation and support of EdAssist
  • Coordinates university offerings (e.g. CPP, Stevens Institute, Caltech, UCLA)
  • Includes East Coast URR engagement
  • LX administrative support

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have at least 10 years relevant experience including development administration of training resources
  • Familiarity with modern and traditional training methods
  • Excellent leadership and motivational skills
  • Ability to plan, manage time and multitask effectively
  • Advanced database and computer skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Good collaboration and teamwork skills



Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least a bachelor's degree in education, human resources or a related discipline; Professional certification (e.g. the Certified Professional in Training Management)
  • Strong understanding of technical talent development  
  • Experience managing large scale projects
  • Ability to obtain a secret clearance

Salary Range: $122,000 USD - $183,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
