Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems relies on our team to provide the insights needed to drive performance across a broad range of strategic activities. We are looking for a passionate Database Architect to design and develop automated, end-to-end, ETL pipelines from disparate data sources.
You will share in the ownership of the technical vision and direction for advanced analytics systems that change the way we see and use data. We are looking for people who are self-motivated, hardworking, and have demonstrated the ability to find innovative solutions to complex technical problems.
Job Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and maintain a scalable ETL pipeline
• Data preparation/cleaning, integration, and automation from heterogeneous sources
• Ensure data integrity and system availability
• Identify, evaluate, and recommend core technologies and strategies
• Monitor and optimize system performance
• Decompose user requirements into logical functions/components
This requisition may be filled at either a Data Scientist or a Principal Data Scientist based on the qualifications listed below.
Basic Qualifications Data Architect (Level 2):
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field with 2+ years of experience
- Experience working with ETL techniques and frameworks
- Experience with integration of data from multiple sources
- Experience with SQL Server administration
- Demonstrated proficiency utilizing Python, C#, SQL, and/or SSIS
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau)
- Understanding of Agile Software Development
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance AND Special Program Access in a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs

- Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field with 5+ years of experience OR Master's Degree with 3 years of experience
- 3+ years of experience working with ETL techniques and frameworks
- Experience with integration of data from multiple sources
- Experience with SQL Server administration
- Demonstrated proficiency utilizing Python, C#, SQL, and/or SSIS
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau)
- Understanding of Agile Software Development
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance AND Special Program Access in a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a STEM field with 3 years of relevant experience 5+ years of experience working with ETL techniques and frameworks
- Expert in Python, C#, SQL, SSIS, and data visualization tools
- Windows Server administration
- Experience with Git version control and the Atlassian suite
- Experience with data virtualization (e.g. PolyBase administration)
- Development experience utilizing Hadoop, Spark, PowerShell, and automation scripts
- CompTIA Security+ Certification
- Active DoD Secret Clearance
- Special Program Access
