Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Cyber Systems Engineering (Functional Homeroom) Section Manager 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This leadership position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.

The selected candidate will lead a team of System Security Engineering (e.g. Cybersecurity, Anti-Tamper (AT), Program Protection) practitioners assigned across MAD COE programs and will report to the Specialty Engineering Department Manager.   Additionally, the selected candidate will be expected to fulfill a technical statement of work on the E-2 Program.  The selected candidate will have experience with Information Assurance or Cybersecurity implementations based on DoD, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Committee on National Security Systems Instruction (CNSSI), and Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes, policies and guidelines.

Functional Manager duties include:
•    Develop and maintain a cohesive and dedicated team of System Security Engineering practitioners based in diverse work experience backgrounds 
•    Ensure team unity and the ability of the team to work effectively with other disciplines 
•    Set operating objectives and provide guidance and mentoring to assigned employees 
•    Provide assistance to programs on staffing and System Security Engineering processes 
•    Manage the performance management process for assigned employees
•    Review and make recommendations for promotions and special assignments
•    Ensure the assigned workforce is properly trained for successful achievement of program goals
•    Provide insight into Section status and performance to Department Manager 
•    Provide first-level resolution of personnel issues according to company processes and procedures

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 9 years engineering  experience OR a Master’s Degree and 7 years of engineering experience 
  • Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
  • Demonstrated competence in the application of system security design and certification requirements over the Systems engineering Lifecycle.

Preferred Qualifications
•    Advanced degree in a field in a STEM field
•    Demonstrated understanding of JSIG and RMF requirements/certification procedures
•    Demonstrated experience with RMF, JSIG or DIACAP requirements/certification procedures, and associated architectural implementations
•    Experience in a System Security Engineering leadership role
•    Experience in training of System Security Engineering methods and processes
•    Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management

Salary Range: $123,900 USD - $185,900 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
