Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for Principal Test Conductor / Senior Principal Test Conductor - Specializing in Aircraft Ground and Flight Test to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Systems Integration, Test and Evaluation (SIT&E) organization. This role is located in Melbourne, FL.

**This position may be filled by either a Principal Test Conductor level or a Senior Principal Test Conductor level based on the qualifications listed. **

In this SIT&E Lab Operations role you will be supporting aircraft systems development and qualification within a laboratory environment. Duties will consist of assisting laboratory design, test planning and preparation, scheduling of test events, and leading the execution of test procedures. In this role you will ensure test stations and assets are configured and ready to test by deploying software and configuring hardware on test stations. In addition, you will work closely with QA to maintain and validate test station software and hardware. Contributing to test readiness reviews, conducting briefings, performing acceptance testing and integration events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform Test Conductor and Test Director Duties supporting multiple aircraft subsystems
  • Lead test events ranging from developmental to formal testing
  • Effectively assign roles and responsibilities to team members by clearly communicating test priorities and expectations
  • Establish and maintain standards of test conduct and rigor  
  • Effectively manage lab configuration through detailed documentation
  • Accurately communicate lab and test status to leadership via written and oral means
  • Troubleshoot component and system level issues/discrepancies

Basic Qualifications (Principal Test Conductor):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science AND 5 years of relevant professional/military experience OR Master's Degree in Science AND 3 years of relevant professional/military experience OR 9 years of relevant professional/military experience in lieu of degree
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher prior to the commencement of employment
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Programs Access (SAP)

Basic Qualifications (Sr. Principal Test Conductor):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science AND 9 years of relevant professional/military experience OR Master's Degree in Science AND 7 years of relevant professional/military experience OR 4 years of experience AND a PhD OR 13 years of relevant professional/military experience in lieu of degree.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher prior to the commencement of employment
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Programs Access (SAP)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Aircraft Ground Test and Operations.
  • Experienced in reading and comprehending schematic diagrams.
  • Experienced using Test Equipment, such as digital multimeters, O-scopes, power supplies, etc.
  • Experienced with Electronic Principles, MIL STD protocol for 1553, 429, and 1394 busses.
  • Familiarity with avionics systems and equipment, Test Stations, or Lab Operations.
  • Experience with software deployments and deployments tools.

Salary Range: $79,700 USD - $119,500 USD
Salary Range 2: $98,700 USD - $148,100 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
