Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Sr. Principal Flight Simulator Trainer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL for the Logistics and Modernization group.

The successful candidate needs to be experienced with the Instructional Systems Development (ISD) framework for analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating (ADDIE) learning systems. Select appropriate instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, self-study, lectures, demonstration-performance, problem-based learning, student-centered learning, and guided discussion. Support, build, and promote a positive and collaborative culture across all teams. Develop and maintain expert level knowledge. Strong written and verbal communication skills required, as well as strong organizational skills and an ability to work independently in a deadline-oriented environment.

Essential Functions:

• Develops training curriculum, study outlines, and orientation materials to be employed during procedures based aircrew training.

• Support the development of criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities.

• Continuously revises lesson plans to meet new training requirements and maintain updated technical information.

• Provide input to meet new training requirements and to keep technical information up to date.

• Demonstrate and use effective training analysis, project management, course development, and evaluation skills.

• Develop instruction materials – self-paced guides, case studies, job aids, evaluations; scenario-based course outlines.

• Develop training materials – classroom materials, instructor guides, student manuals, workbooks, related materials; curricula to support program implementation across target audiences.

• Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify specific training needs and develop solutions for satisfying unique skills-based training requirements.

• Create and analyze assessments to evaluate learning effectiveness and instructional improvement opportunities – e.g. pre-tests, post-tests, and quizzes.

• Review simulator design and training effectiveness to ensure device supports course learning objectives.

• Use ISD current Learning Theory to solve complex learning and performance problems.

The selected candidate must thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university with 10 or more years of experience in courseware development, instruction, or industry training content development.

• Must have working knowledge of customer compliance documents, government instructions, and government standards.

• Must have Air Force Pilot/ Aircrew experience

• Must have familiarity with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

• Must have active or the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Security Clearance or Top Secret clearance within the past 5 years

• Must have the ability to obtain Special Program Access.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Air Force Pilot/ Aircrew Formal Training Unit instructor experience

• Experience in task analysis procedures and training systems products

• Basic understanding of Agile processes.

• Design and development of curriculum for advanced technologies.

• Experience using courseware development tools – LCMS and LMS

Salary Range: $81,600 USD - $122,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
