Northrop Grumman is seeking an Principal Traffic Administrator for our location in Mesa, AZ.

Position Summary:

Plans, schedules, and routes inbound and outbound domestic and international shipments of freight, using knowledge of postal regulations, tariffs, and company policy. Schedules with carriers, reconciles freight bills, prepares and negotiates claims, and selects or recommends carriers to ensure efficient, timely, and least expensive movement of goods and material. Conducts research on transportation methods, rates, and routes. Develops programs to audit and monitor carrier rates and charges and evaluates past performance and cost of transportation. Usage of multiple internal and external data systems.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 6 year of experience with a Bachelor's Degree in transportation, business, supply chain/logistics, or related field, 4 years of experience with a Master’s Degree.
  • Ability to manage heavy phone and email communications
  • Self-starter working to completion of tasks based on priorities within start/stop environment
  • MS Office Software familiarization
  • Excellent reading comprehension skills to be applied with complex contracts
  • Strong ability to problem solve and troubleshoot logistics

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with ITAR Regulations
  • Working knowledge of USG shipments in/out bound
  • Invoicing of service providers
  • Contract review experience

This position falls under a Federal Explosives License issued by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) for this location. Candidates hired into this role will be required to complete and submit an Employee Possessor Questionnaire to ATF for approval to be a possessor.


Salary Range: 65700 - 98500

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
