Together with our group of experts across the technical spectrum, you’ll discover opportunities to make a difference in our world and start solving some of the world’s most critical problems in the most innovative ways.   The Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector is currently hiring for experienced Computer Systems Engineer/Architect  for the US SOUTHCOM program.   These positions are located in Doral, FL (Miami, FL area).   Role & Responsibilities: in this role as the Computer Systems Engineer/Architect, you will:
  • Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and support ability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
  • Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
  • Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
  • Design and define system architecture for new or existing complex computer systems.
  • Coordinates design of subsystems and integration of total system.
  • Design and recommend efficiencies to reduce physical infrastructure and increase the software-defined solution.
  • Research new and emerging technologies to improve existing computer systems.
  • Determine systems specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility and maintenance of system functionality and security.
  • Work in conjunction with the engineering lead to review and approve best value approaches for release through the Mission Services Factory.
  • Design the system architecture for new or existing complex computer systems.
  • Design the COOP/DR strategy; Identifies sites, connections and redundancies to enable robust COOP/DR capabilities.
Evaluate, recommend, and implement:
  • High Availability Architectures
  • High Availability Cloud Architectures and availability zones
  • High Availability Storage architectures, data replication and synchronization
  • Application and Site Failover.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Science and a minimum of 14 years of relevant  experience; or a Master's degree and 12 years of relevant experience; or a PhD and 9 years of relevant experience.
  • U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Top Secret w/ SCI eligibility security clearance.
  • DoD 8570/8140 IAT/IAM level II certification.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience with supporting USSOUTHCOM, Combatant Commands, or similar DoD experience.
  • Experience in DoD Enterprise security requirements.
  • Documented experience as an architect for large enterprise environment.
  • DoD 8570/8140 IAT/IAM level III certification.
  • Familiarity in and with Cloud Based Technologies.
