Northrop Grumman Space Systems is searching for an experienced Principal Engineer Software / Sr. Principal Engineer Software - DevSecOps to support a Ground System in Morrisville, NC.

 

The successful candidate for this position will join a group of DevSecOps engineers that is designing, deploying, and maintaining Amazon Web Services (AWS) environments for a ground system. The ground system will include Docker containers orchestrated by Kubernetes.

 

Essential Functions:

Develop Infrastructure as Code scripts in Terraform, Helm, and Puppet to provision AWS resources. Deploy and maintain the Dockerized ground system application on Kubernetes clusters. Configure and maintain EC2 developer instances and development environment. Configure and maintain DevSecOps Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipeline tools.

This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on the qualifications listed below.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Principal Engineer Software: Bachelor’s degree in STEM related degree with 5 + years of software development experience; 3 years with a Master's; 0 years with a PhD; or 9 years of software development experience in lieu of a degree.

  • Sr. Principal Engineer Software : Bachelor’s degree in STEM related degree with 9 + years of software development experience; 7 years with a Master's; 0 years with a PhD; or 14 years of software development experience in lieu of a degree.

  • U.S. citizenship is required.

  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance or higher

  • Ability to travel 10% or less is required.

  • Candidates should have experience with large software systems and the full software development lifecycle

  • Knowledge of software systems deployment and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)

  • Prior experience with DevSecOps and/or Software Factory implementation

  • Experience with RedHat Linux administration

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS (AWS Certification desired)

  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes

  • Experience developing Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Helm, Puppet)

  • Experience with DevSecOps tools (especially Jenkins and Nexus)

  • Experience using Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket)

  • Experience integrating complex systems that facilitate continuous build, continuous integration, continuous test, continuous deployment

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management

  • Ability to share knowledge with the team by creating documentation and training

  • Active TS/SCI clearance w/ Poly


Salary Range: 92000 - 138000
Salary Range 2: 114100 - 171100

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
