Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for an Aircraft Structures Mechanic- Level 1 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Moss Point, MS.

Mechanics will be sealers with some structures work once sealant work is complete. Sealant will be applied in a confined space area (fuel tanks).

Essential Functions:

• Read and understand blueprints
• Translate blueprints into fabrications of structural assemblies to include: precision drilling, countersinking, and the use of calibrated tools
• Aligning parts on jigs using templates and fixtures
• Performing part-fitting operations: filing sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling and reaming
• Measures parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions
• May modify incomplete and complete assemblies to incorporate changes to structure and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures

Basic Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED
• Mechanical, carpentry, caulking, or similar background experience. 
• Must be able to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include: bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting up to 25 pounds, and working overhead.
• Must be able to access small confined spaces and work in an enclosed environment
• The ability to pass Special Medical/Respiratory Exam.
• The ability to work 2nd shift “5:00 pm – 3:30 am” and any work schedule

Preferred Qualifications:
A&P License

 

Salary Range: $31,100 USD - $51,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
