Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Industrial Engineer / Sr. Principal Industrial Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in Moss Point, MS. The Moss Point site is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Industrial Engineer that enjoys the challenge of thinking and working “outside the box”.  Work will include not only normal program I.E. tasks and responsibilities but the selected candidate will also be heavily involved with:  Site Operations Program Management responsibilities; Facility redesign & layouts; Staffing and strategic long range forecasting; as well as performing ROI’s, Business Cases and Feasibility Studies in support of new work capture for the site.  Candidate should be a self-starter that can work with minimal oversight and also be comfortable & experienced interacting with site and program leadership, as well as building and presenting PowerPoint presentations to all levels of management. Job duties to include:
  • Help determine the most efficient sequence of operations and work flow and provides finite scheduling to manufacturing cost centers and IPTs
  • Maintains datasets and generates metrics that provide for the measurement of program & functional schedule & cost performance.
  • Develops and deploys plans that ensure the timely availability and effective utilization of labor, facilities, equipment, & tooling resources enabling the achievement of program delivery and cost milestones.
  • Develops and summarizes analyses for the acquisition, maintenance & enhancement of capital assets and miscellaneous equipment. Plans plant, office, and production facilities and equipment layouts
  • Provides capacity planning and rate tool analyses
  • Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction and inventory control

Basic Qualifications: This requisition may be filled at either a Principal or a Sr. Principal Basic Qualifications: Principal Industrial Engineer are: ·         Bachelor of Science Degree (STEM) with 5 or more years related experience; or Master’s Degree with 3 or more years related experience Basic Qualifications for a Sr. Principal Industrial Engineer are: ·         Bachelor of Science Degree (STEM) with 9 or more years related experience; or Master’s Degree with 7 or more years related experience   Preferred Qualifications:
  • Military Aircraft Operations Experience
  • Documented experience working in a robust IPT environment
  • At least 1 year of demonstrated experience participating and leading project teams
  • Strong expertise using the full suite of Microsoft Office Tools to include MS Project scheduling software
  • Strong Lean Six Sigma background preferred
