Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) seeks a Systems Engineer for a, growing, dynamic position supporting military synthetic training operations based at Nellis AFB in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Synthetic Training environment provides virtual real world simulation training for numerous users and warfighters across the USAF. NGDS is an industry leader in developing, integrating, and sustaining complex systems for the US Department of Defense. Our engineering teams perform a variety of tasks leading to the successful integration, test, deployment, and sustainment of complex DOD Systems worldwide.


• Install, configure, and debug various synthetic training contractor and government provided software applications

• Perform integration and testing activities with contractor provided and government provided equipment and systems

• Identify integration issues and system requirements discrepancies across multiple systems

• Assist with creation of test plans, test procedures, and tracking issues through to resolution.

• Perform GAP analysis and trade studies of various contractor and government provided systems for compliance to system, network, and industry standard military and synthetic training requirements

• System integration, verification and validation

• Analyze total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation

• Perform systems engineering analysis, design, and development

Basic Qualifications:

• 9 Years with Bachelors in Science; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD. in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical STEM field.

• Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD TS/SCI clearance

• Experience working within engineering & design processes for the development of complex systems

• Ability to support integration and testing of various synthetic training SW applications

• Familiarization with computer networking

• Ability to draft and develop work-related manuals, publications

Preferred Qauls

• Experience with DoD Systems such as IFF, Radar Systems, Radio Communications, Data Links, Munitions, Electronic Warfare, Aircraft Representation

• Familiarization with synthetic training modeling and simulations standards (DIS, HLA, TENA) and typical military synthetic training operations

• Active US DoD TS/SCI clearance

• Familiarization with DoD SATCOM and intelligence operations, concepts and training methodologies

• Ability to develop and present material outside the immediate work function

• Possess a working knowledge of software programming functional design and implementation concepts

• Experience performing computer system and software performance analysis

• Experience with hardware virtualization

Salary Range: 119800 - 179600

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
