Northrop Grumman is currently seeking an experienced Principal Accountant to join our team at our facility in New Town, ND.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports.
  • Maintains or oversees the control of accounts and records in such areas as disbursements, expenses, tax payments, and income. Compiles and analyzes financial information to record transactions, prepare reports, and review and verify accuracy.
  • Prepares balance sheet and profit and loss statements, consolidated financial statements, and other accounting schedules and reports.
  • May design, modify, install, and/or maintain accounting systems to ensure an adequate recognition of financial transactions.
  • Coordinates the month end, quarter, and year end accounting close requirements.
  • Prepares and reviews journal entries.
  • Prepares and validates month end financial statements and disclosures
  • Compiles and analyzes financial information to record transactions, prepare reports, and review and verify accuracy.
  • Analyzes monthly trial balances.
  • Performs account reconciliations, and resolve reconciling items for owned accounts.
  • Assist General Accounting members as needed with a variety of accounting tasks.
  • Work effectively with geographically dispersed team and customer.
  • Applies principles of counting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports.  Responsible for the adherence to and communication of accounting and auditing policies and procedures.
  • Complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards.  Full knowledge of industry practices.  Independently demonstrates the skill and ability to perform fairly complex professional tasks.
  • Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems.  May refer to established precedents and policies.
  • Performs fairly complex tasks and participates in determining objectives of assignment.  Plan schedules and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives.  Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
  • Represents organization as prime contact on project.  Interacts with senior internal and external personnel on significant matter often requiring coordination between organizations.  May develop and deliver presentations.

 Basic Qualifications:

  • 6 Years of experience with Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field OR 4 Years of experience with Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field OR 8+ years of experience in Finance, Accounting or related field
  • 4 years of payroll tax experience
  • Ability to be achieve CPP certification 1 year from hire date

  • CPP certification

Salary Range: 72700 - 109100

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
