Enjoy a diverse, collaborative environment with professionals across the nation ready to help launch your career.   Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Aerospace Associate Engineer Industrial (Industrial Engineer) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.  This position is located in New Town, North Dakota.    This position will be on the Day Shift (6:00am -4:30pm).   Principal duties:
  • Analyzes and designs sequence of operations and work flow to improve efficiencies in plant and production facilities and equipment layouts; and establishes methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel.
  • May establish or assist in establishing accident prevention measures and may manage training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operations.
  • Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems.
  • On the basis of these studies, develops and implements plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods.
  • May assist facilities engineers in the planning and design of facilities.
  Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and design sequence of operations and work flows to improve efficiency.
  • Assist with the creation of detailed shop operating plans.
  • Provide job schedules to reflect critical path, shop operating budget and manning requirements.
  • Provide daily production requirements to shop floor managers.
  • Create recovery and work-around plans as required.
  • Provide analysis of performance data and perform time studies as needed to identify improvement opportunities and ensure accurate values are forecasted.
  • Update and distribute weekly visual graphics & metrics that reflect operational performance, constraints, action items and job delays to Operations Management.
  • Analysis of supply chain and logistics support. 
  • Assist in conducting business case analysis for facility modifications, equipment or tooling purchases, and staffing requirements to optimize performance.

Basic Qualifications:  
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) related field
  • Two years of experience in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing or the Aerospace Industry.
  • Familiarity with process flows, manufacturing principles and production operations.
  • Familiarity with simulation programs, manpower modeling, and scheduling techniques.
 Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in Aerospace/Aeronautics.
  • Detailed understanding of MS-Project and Excel.
