Northrop Grumman is seeking a motivated professional to join our team as Engineer Network / Principle Engineer Network.  The selected candidate will be motivated, energetic, and willing to learn. The candidate will work on a small team supporting the Defense Weapons Systems. They will support the integration of AFDCGS mission capabilities to include: installation, maintenance, and sustainment.   

Positions are unfunded awaiting award.

Daily responsibilities include:

  • Designs and plans network communications systems.
  • Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture.
  • Provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
  • Conducts testing of network design.
  • Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
  • Evaluates and reports on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
  • Support integration of mission capabilities with enterprise services.
  • Provide support to the Government team managing the software system.
  • May include travel to other locations.
  • Work well in a small team environment
  • Support customer needs as required

Basic Qualifications: Engineer Network

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical Engineering or related discipline with 2 years of related experience
  • Must currently possess an active DoD Top Secret Clearance
  • Must have DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification or greater
  • Willing to work flexible schedule to maintain operational capability
  • IT skills in Windows, Linux, or Solaris platforms
  • Experience with Network Design and Implementation
  • Experience with Network Performance Tuning
  • Experience utilizing network monitoring tools
  • Knowledge of Agile Methodologies Experience
  • Knowledge of integration, and testing environment that supports a DevSecOps construct

Basic Qualifications: Principle Engineer Network

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical Engineering or related discipline with 5 years of related experience or Master’s Degree with 3 years of related experience
  • Must currently possess an active DoD Top Secret Clearance
  • Must have DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification or greater
  • Willing to work flexible schedule to maintain operational capability
  • IT skills in Windows, Linux, or Solaris platforms
  • Experience with Network Design and Implementation
  • Experience with Network Performance Tuning
  • Experience utilizing network monitoring tools
  • Knowledge of Agile Methodologies Experience
  • Knowledge of integration, and testing environment that supports a DevSecOps construct

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CCNA / CISSP certified technician
  • Experience with Cisco to hardware/software (eg: Cisco Prime, Cisco Ise, Cisco ACS, Putty, Cisco Command Line Interface, Cisco 3850 switches and network configuration)
  • Experience with installing, supporting and maintaining network components as well as planning for, and responding to, communications outages and other problems. 
  • Knowledge of military command, control, and communication systems.
  • AF DCGS Knowledge or experience

Salary Range: 70600 - 111400
Salary Range 2: 87400 - 138000

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
