BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 12 years' experience in extensive setup on CNC machines holding tolerances to +/-.0005
- Experienced machining castings and forgings.
- Ability to read and write G-Code, read and understand drawings and GD&T.
- Computer knowledge and experience to view instructions, log work and enter characteristics, receive and send emails, complete online training.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to write and articulate job requirements and status to managers, leads and co-workers between shifts.
- Dedicated team member with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- High school diploma/GED
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT:
CNC Horizontal, Vertical Milling and Turning Centers, Line Boring, Layout Machine, Indexing Tables, Fixtures, Jigs, Angle Plates, Planer Blocks and Jacks, Chuck Jaws, Clamps, Shims, Nuts, Bolts, Vises, Big Plus Tool Holders, Misc. Tooling for Boring, Drilling, Threading. Measuring tools; Pin and Block Gages, I.D./O.D. Micrometers, Depth Micrometers, Surface Gages, Hight Gage, Pitch Gage, Calipers, etc. Cranes, Rigging and PPE
MATERIAL:
Carbon, Stainless Steel, Alloy Steel, rough and semi‑finished stock, Castings, Forgings, grinding wheels, stones, solvent, acetone, anti‑rust preservative, etc.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Comprehend specific manufacturing work instructions through MI package, drawings, operation sheets, work authorizations and set‑up sheets. Setup and perform a variety of machining operations on large multi axis CNC mills and lathes. Position, align, level and clamp workpieces and/or fixtures to tolerances required in all axis. Disassemble setups of jobs, clean and return fixtures, gages, tools, etc., to their assigned locations. Maintain tools, equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition. Maintain a working knowledge of various machining principles and practices, processes, capabilities, tooling, and technologies. Recommend and/or initiate changes in machining procedures and methods to improve operating efficiency.
Clear and precise verbal and written communication of pertinent job information to employees assigned to the same machines on follow up shifts. Perform work of equal or lower classification as required. Follow all safety, OSHA and ISO regulations.
