Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a  with Senior Principal Test Engineer with an Secret active clearance to join the Advanced Programs group in Northridge, CA.

The successful candidate will manage multiple integration laboratories for efforts within the Advanced Program operating unit.  The role requires the creation of lab spaces and managing of the labs to support rapid development, agile operational readiness, and system configuration control.   The integration environment  will cover a broad spectrum  electronic devices from the component level to the fully integrated system. As a member of the Test and Evaluation Engineering  department, the successful candidate will support the stakeholder programs in the integration and testing of various systems  supporting in collaboration with multiple engineering teams.

Job Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to):

  • Manage and support the development of lab spaces in collaboration with engineers and security to develop and test missile components and subsystems.

  • Provide inputs into the architecting of integration facilities that involves identifying and specifying state of the art lab equipment, identifying infrastructure requirements and managing the procurement of hardware

  • Integration and test of hardware and software on a wide range of systems in collaboration with a diverse group of engineers

  • Create test plans and perform tests to verify proper operation of equipment and test hardware

  • Troubleshooting, problem solving and developing innovative technical solutions to complex test issues

  • Work with internal and external customers to define and document instrumentation, data requirements, and test planning including data acquisition, processing, and analysis to satisfy test objectives

  • Maintain the lab spaces to ensure an organized, clean, and safe work area

Basic Qualifications:

  • 9 years with BS in Engineering or related discipline; 7 years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD

  • Current active Secret clearance or higher.

  • Experienced in the design, development, and implementation of  testing methods and equipment

  • Experience using Matlab or other high level scripting language

  • Able to work independently with minimal direction and act as team lead for larger test effort

  • Effective, professional, and respectful communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Secret Clearance Periodic Reinvestigation within the last 5 years

  • Working knowledge of programmable logic devices

  • Proficient in the use of Logic Analyzers, Software Based Debugging tools, In-Circuit Emulators, RF Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, and Signal Generators

Salary Range: 114100 - 171100

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
