Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector (NGDS) is seeking a Program Financial Analyst or Principal Financial Analyst to join our growing team of qualified individuals to support the Advanced Weapons (AW) Business Unit on-site in Northridge, California.

The position requires US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Role Description:

The qualified candidate will be required to work in a team environment and under a moderate level of guidance and direction. Will be required to analyze data, generate financial reports, resolve problems, and report on the financial status of a program or programs to the program management office, customer, and internal senior leadership. The candidate will be the interface between program finance and the program office for financial analysis issues, concerns and project financial status, and will provide day to day support of assigned programs, contracts and subcontract financial matters.  Selected candidate will be responsible for the preparation and submittal of both internal and customer reports including monthly program forecasts, reviews, Estimate at Complete (EAC), Estimate To Complete (ETC), and internal Sales, OM, Cash, and backlog forecasts.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately forecast program financial metrics including Orders, Sales, OM and Cash Flow for both booked and potential programs
  • Performs analyses and prepares program financial reports for internal and external customers relative to program cost incurrence, material tracking, and labor spending
  • Identifies and mitigates program cost and schedule risk
  • Prepare, review, and analyze program performance measurement and cost variances. 
  • Performs analyses and prepares reports to ensure program contracts are within negotiated, agreed-upon parameters, government cost control guidelines, and accounting guidelines
  • Generate and support weekly, monthly and quarterly reviews and audits consisting of operations, planning, program management and EACs
  • Identifies and mitigates program cost and schedule risk
  • Prepare and submit timely and accurate Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs)
  • Provide cost control and financial support for program management and Integrated Program Team (IPT).
  • Track and manage program billings and cash collections
  • Prepare of monthly journal entries related to the program
  • Work independently to identify solutions and provide strategic direction in a dynamic environment

Basic qualifications for Program Financial Analyst (A02):

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Secret Clearance within a timeframe set by management; U.S. Citizenship required
  • Must have 7 years of related experience in lieu of degree; Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years’ experience or a Master’s degree with 1+ year experience within in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Power Point, and Word
  • Ability to effectively and respectfully communicate with all levels of management, both verbally and written
  • Proven experience working in team environment with all levels of management
  • Demonstrated experience in working independently and being proactive
  • Experience managing multiple projects with demanding deadlines
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills, while maintaining attention to detail and effective time management/organization

Preferred qualifications for Program Financial Analyst (A02):

  • Aerospace & Defense Finance experience
  • Experience with multiple contract types (Cost Plus Fixed Fees/Cost Plus Incentive Fees, Cost Plus Award Fees, Firm Fixed Price/Firm Price Incentive Fee) desired
  • Familiarity with: Deltek Costpoint, IBM Cognos, Cobra, MS Project
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with Earned Value Management principles
  • Current active Secret clearance

Basic qualifications for Principal Financial Analyst (A03):

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Secret Clearance within a timeframe set by management; U.S. Citizenship required
  • Must have 10 years of related experience in lieu of degree; Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years’ experience or a Master’s degree with 4+ year experience within in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Power Point, and Word

  • Proven experience working in team environment with all levels of management
  • Demonstrated experience in working independently and being proactive

Salary Range: $68,100 USD - $102,100 USD
Salary Range 2: $83,800 USD - $125,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
